Foster Grandparent Program

The Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors 55+, the opportunity to work with students in local schools, or other non-profit agencies with children who need extra assistance. Typically school “Grandmas” and “Grandpas” work one-on-one with kids who need some extra support both academically and emotionally.

Foster Grandparents have the ability to use their time, skills and experience to help children learn. The volunteers put in a minimum of 260 hours a year. They receive a tax free stipend, mileage reimbursement, and educational opportunities.

When the Foster Grandparent Program has placed volunteers in schools they have previously served at, we have seen great results!

Please share our information with any volunteers who serve at your school that you feel could benefit from joining our program. If you have any questions, or any interested people, they can find information on our website ( or they can contact me directly.
