The 7th grade Ag class finished their PJ pants last week. The students did a great job on their pants and picked out a lot of fun patterns.

The 8th grade Ag class had Rick Dorn come in and talk to their class about his career with Purina as a Ruminant Nutritionist. They also learned about other career options within Purina.

5th grade traveled to Alexandria for Safety Day and had a great time learning about many different types of ways to be safe in their everyday lives. Topics included: distracted driving, watercraft safety, fire safety, electrical safety, and more. Testing out the distracted driving goggles and practicing how to escape during a fire were class favorites!

All Raising A Reader families: Reminder, please join us tomorrow, Tuesday at the DC Library in Alexandria anytime between 3:45-5:15 OR 5:15-6:45. If your child(ren) have a Blue Library bag already have them bring it to put their new book in. If this is your first time through RAR, your child(ren) will get a Blue Library bag & book. We encourage any child who has a red t-shirt from last year to wear it. Come celebrate literacy with us through fun activities, story time and a light supper with the ice cream party the children have worked hard to earn.

Some of their favorite sessions were Bubbleology where they got to experience what it's like to be inside a bubble and Wetlands where they got to hold different aquatic animals. Congratulations to Grayson Elmer whose design was featured on the t-shirts this year!

The Summer Rec Directors made the difficult decision to not offer Summer Rec Ball to current 7th and 8th graders in any town because of low numbers.
The following is what is being offered to PreK through 6th grade (Current Grades)
TBall - PreK, K, 1st Grade for girls and boys
Toss Ball Girls and Toss Ball Boys - 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Baseball - 4th, 5th, 6th (modified rules from last year, pitcher)
Softball - 4th, 5th, 6th (same rules but with a pitching machine)
4th Grade players will be able to play toss ball and/or baseball or softball - depending on numbers and safety.
A Newsletter will be coming soon with more information.

Congratulations to the April Middle School and High School Students of the Month!
Middle School:
Peyton Klimek and Jocelyn Schaffran
High School:
Kira Quinn and Donell Lee
What Staff have to say about the students of the month:
- Peyton puts a great effort into his classwork, volunteers to read or answer questions daily, is willing to work with anyone and helps his table partner. He is respectful and is a good leader in the classroom.
- Jocelyn always has a positive attitude, works hard, asks questions, is respectful, and is such a calming presence in my classroom.
- Kira works hard in class and asks questions to get better. She always has her work completed and will email or stop in for help whenever needed. She has one of the best attitudes towards learning.
- Donell, despite the hurdles he has faced this semester, has continued to keep his grade up in a very tough chemistry class.
